In Hakko Denshin Ryu, we study waza (forms) and henka (practical applications). This past week, Shihan Evans covered fine points in waza and various transitions students can use to move from one submission principle to another.
Saturday’s class focused on effective strikes, setting armbars and how easily chokes can be applied in different positions.

Details have been released for this year’s Tai Kai, to be held in Goderich, Ontario. Oct 2 – Oct 4. Featuring Shodai Soke Michael J LaMonica (USA), Soke Antonio Garcia (Belgium) and a number of other guest instructors, including special guest instructor, Sensei Ashley Hennessey, who will be instructing Tameshigiri – the art of sword cutting.
